Sponsored by the SNCF, the 5the The latest edition of the «Découverte» seminar took place from Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 March 2015 and brought together 20 young adults enrolled in post-A-level vocational training programmes, including BTS, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in vocational subjects, from the Paris region.
This seminar provided participants with in-depth information on our defence capabilities and on security at the SNCF. Following a morning of introductory lectures at the École Militaire (7th arrondissement, Paris), the session alternated between visits to SNCF command posts and a tour of the 516th Transport Regiment, stationed in Toul, in the Nancy region.
The debriefing session, held at the end of the final day and attended by representatives from the SNCF and the IHEDN, was devoted to presenting the trainees’ reflections from the three-day course, which this year focused on the concept of the ‘spirit of defence’.
They were then presented with a certificate of attendance by General de Courrèges d’Ustou, Director of the IHEDN and the Higher Military Education Department (EMS).
