[CNC] National Cohesion and Citizenship Day - Amiens, 25 November 2014

On 25 November, the Cercle des partenaires de l'IHEDN, in partnership with the regional office of the Agence nationale pour la cohésion sociale et l'égalité des chances (ACSÉ), organised a «National Cohesion and Citizenship» day in Amiens on the theme of youth involvement. Initiated by the Prefecture of the Somme, this event was held in the wake of the creation of a priority security zone (ZSP) in the northern districts of Amiens, which were the scene of riots in August 2012, and as part of the implementation of the new city contracts. It brought together around fifty people working to help young people in the Amiens neighbourhoods covered by the city's urban policy: managers from associations, teachers and school heads, urban policy and local authority managers, local councillors, military personnel, etc.

Three conferences followed by discussions were on the programme:

- The perception of defence by young people«, by Corine BOUTEILLE, assigned to the General Directorate for Higher Education and Professional Integration of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research; ;

- Acting to remobilise neighbourhoods«, by Réda DIDI, founder and general delegate of the Graines de France think tank, and participants in the 2008 IHEDN seminar on »National cohesion and citizenship«; ;

- The forms of commitment favoured by young people in civil society«, by Olivier TOCHE, Director of the Institut national de la jeunesse et de l'éducation populaire (INJEP); ;

After Lille, Marseille, Le Havre, Nantes and Lyon, this trip to Amiens was the 6th seminar on «National cohesion and citizenship» organised in the provinces by the IHEDN Partners' Circle since 2011.
