Le IHEDN Partners' Circle, is organising the next seminar on «National Cohesion and Citizenship» in Nantes on:
- Wednesday 3, 10 and 17 April;
- Wednesday 15 May;
- Friday 7 June 2013.
Venue of the seminar:
Novotel Centre Cité des Congrès Hotel, 3 Rue de Valmy, 44000 Nantes.
This seminar is aimed at thirty people: representatives from the voluntary sector, institutions and schools in the Nantes region who act as intermediaries for young people at risk of social exclusion. The aim is to encourage discussion on the concept of citizenship among young people.
The programme includes lectures, round-table discussions, visits and committee work. Throughout the seminar, a wide range of topics – including the integration of young people into the workforce, the challenges facing national cohesion and young people’s sense of belonging to the nation – will be examined and discussed collectively.
Divided into two committees, the seminar participants will be asked to reflect on issues relating to citizenship, social cohesion, and the inclusion and integration of young people. As the committee work plays a central role in the seminar, participants will present, during the final presentations, a summary of their reflections, as well as ideas for effective tools to strengthen citizenship.
Faced with the same local challenges, the participants in the «National Cohesion and Citizenship» seminar in Nantes will have the opportunity to come together for five days and compare their approaches to supporting young people in difficulty. The wide variety of backgrounds and experiences among the participants will create the conditions for a rich collective discussion.
