[CNC] «National cohesion and citizenship» seminar Le Havre 2012, in partnership with Lafarge and EDF.

After Marcq-en-Barœul in 2011 and Marseille in May and June 2012, the Cercle des partenaires de l'IHEDN is organising the next «National Cohesion and Citizenship» (CNC) seminar in Le Havre on :

• Wednesday 10 and Wednesday 17 October,
• Wednesday 14 and Wednesday 21 November,
• Wednesday 5 December 2012.

Theme:

«Being a French citizen in 2012»

This seminar is aimed at thirty people: local councillors, managers from the voluntary sector or the Ministry of Education, all of whom have a role in working with young people in difficulty. The aim is to encourage collective reflection on the concepts of citizenship and the spirit of defence.

Seminar venue :

Novotel Bassin Vauban, 20 rue Lafayette, Quai Colbert, 76600 Le Havre.

Teaching content :

The programme includes lectures, round tables, visits and committee work. Throughout the seminar, topics as varied as defence preparedness, the challenges facing national cohesion and the army-nation link will be examined, providing an opportunity for collective reflection.

Committee work will play a central role in the seminar, and the auditors taking part will be asked to present a summary of their reflections and concrete proposals for strengthening national cohesion at the final presentations.

For the Le Havre CNC seminar, the thirty auditors will be divided equally between two committees:

• National Cohesion - Youth Committee;
  In an increasingly open and globalised environment, identify several innovative ways of strengthening social cohesion among young people.
• Citizenship Committee - Spirit of defence :How is the link between citizenship and the spirit of defence being redefined in the light of the creation of European citizenship and the emergence of global public opinion? What new role do national social, political and economic players have to play in disseminating a spirit of defence among young people?
