He began his <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=91L8rzBGQok&amp;list=PLkZ9xqja2UKHpXpuhci51yA0OGv1JZDdp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opening speech<\/a> <\/strong>of this launch day, citing <strong>Napoleon Bonaparte<\/strong>, trained at the \u00c9cole Militaire in 1784: \u00ab&nbsp;<strong><em>Do you know what I admire most in the world? It's the powerlessness of force to organise anything. There are only two powers in the world, the sword and the mind. In the long run, the sword is always beaten by the mind.<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;\u00bbWhoever wrote this to the Grand Master of the University was called&nbsp;<strong>Napoleon Bonaparte<\/strong>, formed within these walls in 1784.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why ACADEM?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rapid changes in the geopolitical context, shifts in the forms of conflict and the transformation of societies call for a new approach.&nbsp;<strong>greater openness in strategic thinking<\/strong>. The creation of the ACADEM responds to this need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cyber-ihedn.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cyber and Digital Sovereignty Chair - IHEDN<\/a><\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ecodef-ihedn.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chair in Defence Economics - IHEDN<\/a><\/strong>, administered by the <strong>IHEDN Endowment Fund<\/strong>, are part of the <strong>twenty or so research, higher education and teaching bodies<\/strong> that the \u00c9cole Militaire brings together in the fields of defence and national security constitutes <strong>a unique ensemble in Europe<\/strong>.
